The Jays Jacket from 8848 Altitude is a versatile shell designed to keep you comfortable during outdoor adventures and everyday wear. Its regular fit makes it easy to layer over a mid-layer or fleece without feeling too tight or bulky.

Built entirely from 100% recycled polyester, this jacket combines a sturdy feel with environmental responsibility. The fabric’s durable nature stands up to abrasion on the trail, while the regular cut gives you room to move whether you’re pitching a tent or grabbing a coffee. A PFC-free DWR coating adds a light water-repellent finish that helps shed drizzle and light showers without relying on harsh chemicals.

The DWR, or Durable Water Repellent, finish causes water to bead up and roll off the surface, reducing the chance of fabric saturation. Being PFC-free means no perfluorinated compounds are used in the treatment, which lessens environmental impact compared to traditional water-repellent coatings.

The Jays Jacket is a fully loaded, high-performance ski jacket for epic, long days on the mountain in all weathers. It offers an expressive design in three colour combos and is constructed with a range of ingeniuos solutions and innovative materials. The outer material is durable durAtec® Extreme, which breathes effectively while providing complete weather protection against wind, snow and water. The fabric is sustainably made from 100% recycled polyester and the jacket’s soft inner lining is dyed with e.dye®, a method where no water is needed as with traditional dyeing. Also the warming insulation is produced from 100% recycled polyester. These material choices together make us classify the jacket as a “Sustainable Choice”.For a maximum skiing experience, the jacket is top-specified with several comfort-enhancing technical features such as a 3D mesh lining on the inside of the back for extra moisture transport, a zip ventilation system under the sleeves and a super soft fleece lining in the collar. Personal configuration and protection against penetrating snow is offered with a removable and adjustable hood, adjustable sleeve ends and drawstring at the bottom, and a fixed snowgaiter at the waist. With its two lined waist pockets, two chest pockets, inner pocket and ski pass pocket on the sleeve, the jacket also has generous storage for both accessories, energy, equipment and mobile phone.
