The 230 Competition Short Pants from Ortovox are a warm base‐layer legging for men, made to sit close to the skin during chilly outdoor activities. Designed as a short version of a classic long underwear, they help you stay comfortable whether you’re on a winter hike, skiing or building a campfire.

Crafted in a slim fit, these leggings use a blend of merino wool, polyamide and elastane to offer warmth without excess bulk. The merino wool brings natural temperature regulation and odor control, while the polyamide adds strength and quick-drying performance. The elastane gives just enough stretch for freedom of movement. Produced in Europe under Fair Wear Foundation standards and the Ortovox Wool Promise, they’re made with shorter transport routes and ethical farming practices in mind.

Merino wool fibers trap warm air next to your skin, wick moisture away and resist odors, keeping you comfortable over long days. Polyamide reinforces the fabric for durability and abrasion resistance, so it holds up under rough use. Elastane provides stretch and shape retention, ensuring the leggings move with you without sagging. Together, these materials balance warmth, durability and flexibility for cold-weather layering.

The 230 COMPETITION SHORT PANTS for men helps you deliver top sporting performance with a whole new look – whether you’re on a ski tour, freeriding, or on a high alpine tour. The 230 MERINO COMPETITION line is produced using a seamless circular knitting technique so that when the weather gets cold and the going gets tough, every area of the body is covered by the right thickness of merino wool. The basic ribbed structure consists of 190 g/m² merino, giving the functional shirt elasticity for maximum freedom of movement. A particularly breathable mesh structure is used in heat spots, while 240 g/m² wool warms areas that are sensitive to the cold, such as the kidneys. This body-mapping principle allows for a close fit while providing maximum ventilation. At just 16.5 microns in diameter, the delicate merino fibers feel pleasantly soft against the skin and at the same time make the functional shirt quick-drying and very durable. The new color gradient from light to dark is created by knitting in mottled yarn and gives the functional shirt a special pattern thanks to the body-mapping structure. This puts the 230 COMPETITION SHORT PANTS for men out in front when it comes to looks, too!
