Developed in close cooperation with Crucible Industries, CPM SPY27 is a remarkably well-balanced steel that can only be found on Spyderco knives. It contains a proprietary mix of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, and nitrogen. This advanced formula is enhanced by the amplifying effects of its signature elementcobaltand the state-of-the-art Crucible Particle Metallurgy process to yield a blade steel that offers excellent toughness, corrosion resistance, and edge retention. Produced exclusively for Spyderco, this made in specialized factories steel is now showcased in several more established Spyderco models. The precision-machined, satin-finished blades of these knives take full advantage of CPM SPY27s remarkable properties to deliver outstanding cutting performance and reliability. They are paired with handles featuring machined G-10 scales in a distinctive cobalt blue colorone of the signature hues of our SPY27 family of knives. All other features of these elite knives are faithful to the standard versions of each model.
